The real reason that Garrison Aerodrome exists is because Pat Mattes wanted to play with EPP.

Back in 1997 I was just really getting to know Pat. He and I were having conversations about R/C in general, and the possibility of doing something in the R/C arena business wise. The long and short of our conversations comes down to this: Pat said he really wanted to work with EPP and design an electric trainer. I said I would get him the EPP and kit the model if he did. That was the beginning of the road to the Push-E Cat.

However, just having a design was one thing. Manufacturing kits was another. Thank God for Dave Sanders of Dave's Aircraft Works. Dave by himself is a wonderful guy, a maker of outstanding airplanes, and he is without a doubt a great spokesman for the R/C industry. The great thing about Dave is that he has no secrets. He shared a lot about how he works with EPP with me as I was starting up. He also supplied the EPP for all our models for over 3 years. Never, ever say a bad word about Dave Sanders in my presence. Dave's operation and his technologies set the baseline for Garrison Aerodrome.

Anyway, in the beginning, kits were supposed to be only part of the overall Garrison Aerodrome scene. Garrison Aerodrome R/C Model Enterprises was founded in February, 1998 by Darwin A. Garrison as a sole proprietorship business under Indiana state law. At the time of its inception, Garrison Aerodrome was intended to be primarily a web service provider to the modeling industry and an umbrella organization for the development and marketing of original design radio control aircraft.

Near the end of 1998, it became obvious that Garrison Aerodrome was better suited to focus on the development and marketing of quality niche market radio control products rather than attempting split its focus across markets. To pursue this vision, the web related portions of Garrison Aerodrome's business were ceded to the contractor who had been maintaining the sites: Whirlwind Systematics

In August of 2000, Darwin was laid off from his day job. Because of this event, production at Garrison Aerodrome was severely disrupted. This resulted in a period of severe customer dissatisfaction as our order system and inventory fell into chaos. Added to this, certain individuals chose to take advantage of the situation by using their credit cards to fraudulently obtain product without paying (commonly known as theft). This was our lowest time, as it looked grim both in the day to day world of bill paying and in the future hopes of growth for Garrison Aerodrome.

Fortunately, Darwin was able to land work not too far away in Cleveland, Ohio. After over a year of disrupted business and family affairs, things have finally turned the corner. Our home and shop have been successfully relocated to Brunswick, Ohio, and Garrison Aerodrome is now Ohio based. Tamara S. Garrison is now a core member of the Garrison Aerodrome effort, providing most of the raw effort required to create our quality kits. As a husband-wife team, Darwin and Tammy are now focused on providing quality, innovative products to our customers.

The biggest change we have made, however, is to no longer sell retail via the net. Frankly, there are far better venues for our products through our dealers, and it significantly reduces our personal risk to operate this way. We have been very selective in our choice of web based outlets, and we are actively seeking Brick and Mortar hobby shops that are willing to carry our products as well.

Our mission is to produce innovative and exciting products for the R/C market that will produce a reasonable return on our investment while making allowance for a full and happy family life. Now that we have landed on our feet, we are once again aggressively moving forward towards our goals.
